Reviews:
The performance went on so well because of lively, energetic and very homogeny sound of Polish orchestra, full of fantasy basso continuo and other soloists that appeared high level of their practice.
NFM – Wrocław Baroque Orchestra is our neighbour’s only philharmonic orchestra performing on period instruments. Under direction of the cellist Jarosław Thiel, 16 musicians of the orchestra created the highest level of expressive and even pleasing interpretation.
Haydn’s Le matin, Le midi, Le soir in the recording of Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, Poland's only philharmonic orchestra performing on period instruments (...). WBO is trying to recreate size of the ensemble that Haydn was working with in 1761 in Einsenstadt. Symphonies are played in very elegant way and seducing with meticulous leading of the each instrument’s part. It is Haydn performed with high culture and great consciousness of the époque style. Sometimes even humorous.
The ensemble, led by Jarosław Thiel, takes full advantage of the colour possibilities of these [historical] instruments. Thanks to their precision, attention to details and spirited performances, they created engaging, impressive, sometimes - moving interpretations. The CD [...] proves the high performance standards achieved by Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, an ensemble well prepared to perform the most demanding baroque, classical and early romantic repertoires.
