Wrocław Philharmonic Boys’ Choir

The Wrocław Philharmonic Boys’ Choir is a unique, newly-emerging Philharmonic ensemble, which, similarly to the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and Wrocław Philharmonic Choir, came into being on Andrzej Kosendiak’s initiative, the Wrocław Philharmonic Director. The uniqueness of the Boys’ Choir is closely related to the fact that this time professional musicians are replaced by the youngest music lovers.

Idea behind the group formation

Making music together is above all an inspiring adventure and creative pastime. Through singing in a group and participating in vocal emission and solfeggio classes, the young choristers can dynamically develop their musical predispositions and general musicality. Choral singing enhances children’s self-reliance, appropriate group behaviour and sense of responsibility for joint work. Additional attractions provided for by the Philharmonic include: meetings with the artists, films projections and invitations to the Philharmonic concerts.

Working with authorities

The classes are given by an excellent panel of conductors and teachers – experts prepared to work with talented children. They are headed by the Artistic Director of the Wrocłąw Philharmonic Boys’ Choir, Małgorzata Podzielny, an extremely creative person, enthusiastic and passionate about working with the little ones, a person considered an authority on shaping the sound of children’s choirs. Except the fixed classes, the schedule also includes workshop sessions with foreign experts. The workshops will cover correct pronunciation of foreign languages, among others.
                              
Plans

The newly-founded choir started their intensive work as early as in September 2009. Apart from putting on independent performances, the ensemble is also going to participate in prestigious concerts with outstanding conductors, professional choirs and orchestras. The Boys’ Choir is a chance of rapid development for the young singers themselves, and for the residents of Wrocław – yet another attraction on the music map of our city.


Attractions for kids

We have a special offer for all pre-school children!!! – musicality development classes which will acquaint the little ones with the exciting world of music through playing rhythmic games and singing songs. The classes are taken by Wiesław Michalski, a teacher with long-standing experience in working with children. They are also excellent preparation for singing in the professional Wrocław Philharmonic Boys’ Choir. Learning through play is an easy and accessible way to introduce kindergarten pupils to the fascinating world of music.
