Musica Polonica Nova (may 2010)

Musica Polonica Nova is one of few Polish festivals of the kind. For almost 50 years, the event has featured mainly contemporary Polish compositions; several international accents have also occurred though.

After a few years of break, the Festival is again held under the patronage of Polish Composers' Union and the Wrocław Philharmonic. As usual, every edition presents eminent artists from Poland and abroad, world premieres, as well as para-theatrical events. The Festival is an enterprise of a great importance, stimulating Polish creative musical activity. It has been a major provider of the works which for various reasons have not been included in the programmes of other Polish contemporary music festivals. Musica Polonica Nova, which is held in Wrocław every two years, is a festival valued by composers, performers, and its faithful audience.
